It’s time to say goodbye …

December 31, 1999, I was sitting in front of my PC uploading my first song to MP3.com. I wasn’t expecting much to come of it other than the ability to share my crudely arranged dance music with some Christian friends of mine. I never expected that with in just a few months that my music would be playing all over the world, appearing on several compilation albums and that I would actually have people asking to remix my music.

The years have come and gone and I am still writing, but my focus is a bit different now than before. Redsavior was always specifically aimed at the Christian dance market. That’s where I felt I needed to be for the first part of my musical “career”. After the release of the Flow single, I started to really strip down my sound again and tighten up my sound. I felt that I accomplished what God wanted me to do in the Christian scene and that it was time to move on to the secular. To do that though, I needed to take my music to the next level. Thus enters my new musical venture: Dave Richards.

Unlike the Redsavior project, Dave Richards is a harder-edged and darker mix of tribal, tech and progressive house. I’m still writing Christian music, but it’s also venturing out beyond that a bit as well. As of October 2006, I’ve released one EP and one remix on Next Dimension Music and I have more on the way. The new Dave Richards site is up and running at: http://www.daverichards101.com. Please stop by and check it out.

Most of my previous music should still be available for the foreseeable future. All of the singles, Prophetica: Walkaway RMXD and Demulcent Sessions Vol. 1 are currently being sold through Demulcent Records. Eclectica 4 and Sheltershed: Underground Resistance are available through N*Soul Records. Osmotic Wave can also be found via Deep Sink / Low Roof Records. Sheltershed: Airspace EP can be purchased at Sheltershed’s website. If you buy those, you will have pretty much everything that I have found memories of.

The last thing of interest for now is that DJ 404 and I are currently discussing the possibility of releasing a best of mix. If we do, there’s a good chance that it will be free.

To quote Prophetica: “It’s time I walk away.” I’m not really gone. I’m just moving on to the next musical endeavor that God has in store for me. See you at the Dave Richards site and as always… Tastyfresh.com.

In Christ,
Dave R
